Brenda attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she regularly received performance awards and taught private and class piano to university students. She graduated with a Bachelors  Degree in Piano Pedagogy and a Masters in Piano Performance.  

Major teachers included Paul Pollei (pre-college), Douglas Humpherys, and Robert Smith.

For the last eleven years, she has studied advanced piano technique (The Taubman Approach)  through participation in numerous workshop and through private coaching with various teachers from the Golandsky Institute, most recently with John Bloomfield.

Her favorite composers include Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Muczynski.
